I entered the 2018-2019 National Student Advertising Competition on Texas Tech University’s team with 18 other undergraduate students. Our challenge was to drive primary demand for hot dogs by “changing the perception of a hot dog” four our client, Wienerschnitzel.
I served as Research Director for our team, and managed the research sub-team consisting of three students and myself. We completed eight original research projects, and determined our key target audience.
Our final campaign plan “The Best in the Bun” aimed to change negative perceptions about hot dogs by emphasizing quality ingredients and great taste-not by refuting the negative.
At District 10, Division II competition our campaign was awarded “Best Media Plan” by a panel of judges, including Wienerschnitzel CMO Doug Koegeboehn. We placed third overall in our competition.
Additionally, I was awarded MVP of Texas Tech Bullet Ad Team by our faculty director Shannon Bichard.
